Description
The Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” is seeking a skilled and motivated Web Developer to join our digital services team. This position focuses on maintaining and improving our public-facing website, internal library platforms, and digital archives. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborative work and building digital tools that support research, learning, and public access.
This is a full-time position during weekday business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM). Occasional weekend or evening work may be required during major library updates or special projects. Prior experience with WordPress or PHP-based content systems is preferred, but not mandatory. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Library’s official website and online catalog
- Collaborate with librarians to digitize and display archives
- Fix bugs, optimize performance, and improve security
- Assist with integrating third-party tools and APIs
- Ensure the website meets accessibility standards
- Document systems and provide technical support
Qualifications
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with WordPress or similar CMS
- Knowledge of version control (Git)
- Familiarity with responsive design and UI/UX principles
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
